How Tap Score Works
-
Step 4
Expand your PFAS testing.
Our Advanced City + PFAS kit screens for 18 common PFAS alongside the most frequent municipal water contaminants. If you live near industrial sites, military bases, or airports, or your utility has issued a PFAS advisory, our specialized kits test for a broader range, including GenX and 40 PFAS compounds covered by EPA Method 1633.
Looking for the most exhaustive test panel available? This is the kit for you—no other test screens for more. While our core kits cover what most households need, this kit is for those who want to leave no stone unturned in their water analysis.

Not on city water?
Not on municipal or city water? If your water comes from a private well, you're on your own supply, with no utility treating or monitoring it for you.
Explore our well tests, designed to catch the contaminants most common in groundwater, like bacteria, nitrate, arsenic, and more.

What city test is right for me?
The city or municipal water kit you choose for your home's tap depends on how many contaminants you want to test for and what's driving your concern, whether that's lead and other metals, chlorine byproducts, or a broad screen. Unsure? Try our Customize My Kit feature to match your needs with the right option.
I’m looking for the Extended City Water test, is it still available?
The Extended City Water Test is still available. We’ve replaced it in our main City collection with the Advanced City + PFAS test because that's the best fit for most city water customers. However, you should still choose the Extended City test if your utility has reported radionuclides (e.g. radium, uranium, or gross alpha) or if your city sources groundwater from an area with natural radioactivity.
What will my report include?
Your report will rank your water against local and federal safety benchmarks, provide a thorough breakdown of any contaminants detected and how they may be affecting your health or plumbing, and provide non-biased treatment recommendations.
Are Tap Score labs certified?
Every lab facility in our network is certified with accreditations ranging from ISO to NELAC/ELAP, Direct State, DoD, DoE, DoH and beyond. Need a specific certification? Let us know so that we can meet your needs accordingly.
