Need to share your Tap Score water testing results with a family member, neighbor, contractor, or water treatment professional? In this quick tutorial, we’ll show you exactly how to share your Tap Score report using a secure link or downloadable PDF. We’ll also touch on some key data privacy points to keep your water quality data safe.

Watch how easy it is to share your Tap Score report.

Sharing Your Tap Score Report

You might encounter scenarios that require you to share your Tap Score water quality testing report. It could be a neighbor, a family member, or a water treatment professional who’s helping you decide what kind of water filtration system you might need.

You can share report easily and securely by following these steps:

  1. Sign into app.mytapscore.com with your username and password and navigate to tests. You'll see “in process” tests and “completed” tests.
  2. Navigate to any completed test. In the bottom right corner you’ll find a button that says “Share.” You’ll see a pop-up — this is a sharing control panel with two options:
    • Share the report with “anyone with the link.” You can share that link in an email, put it in a text message, etc. and anyone who views that link will see your lab report. Note: You can anonymize the report so anyone who sees this link, will see only the portions of the report that do not contain personally identifying information.
    • Share your report when online sharing is disabled. If online sharing is disabled, your report can only be viewed by signing in to your Tap Score account with your username and password.

Your Tap Score report should only be shared using the sharing feature. We encourage you to never share the original link received via email with anyone.

Report Download

Sometimes, you need a copy of the report saved on your computer. Rather than sharing the link, you’ll want to click the little caret below the “Copy Link” button. There, you'll find options for generating a PDF download. You can opt for a PDF summary with or without evaluation:

  • A PDF that compares your results to the EPA MCL, EPA MCLG, or the HGL.
  • Or one that does not compare results to any benchmarks

You also have options to change the report’s format. You can select a CSV spreadsheet to share or save for future analysis. This comes in handy for frequent testers looking to graph and/or track multiple results. As with PDFs, you have the choice to anonymize your CSV report or not.

Tap Score Data Privacy

Privacy is extremely important. That’s why we take great care to ensure you have control over how your private data is managed. Furthermore, should you choose to share your results with someone else, Tap Score report-sharing maintains the most secure and sophisticated functionalities available.

For our published research, environmental data tools, and environmental data products, we always anonymize, de-identify, and aggregate customer environmental data. That means it cannot be connected to the customer or household where the test was performed.

  • Tap Score environmental results are aggregated in data and software tools built by SimpleLab. Our tools only integrate with reputable third party platforms for cloud data storage and processing, where necessary.
  • Customer and results data is protected in-transit and while stored in our servers using industry standard encryption methods.
  • We do not store credit card numbers in any database managed by SimpleLab or Tap Score. You directly communicate with Shopify and Stripe for card and payment processing, both of which are PCI compliant when storing and processing credit card information.
  • Our site is only accessible via HTTPS. This ensures a secure connection and interaction with our site at all times.
